How I should begin to become friends with a girl?

See, there's this girl in my school, thats a grade lower than me.

I've seen her a few times in the hallway, and she used to like my friend like a year ago, so I know her name. She doesn't know me, but in the hallways as we pass by there's always a second or so where we look at each other in the eyes.



So, I'm not looking to begin a relationship just yet, but I'd be interested to meet her as a friend and get to know her. Any ideas how to do it? Through my friend or.. out of the blue?

Well what I would do is have a friend that is close to her try to get you guys to engage in conversation. Maybe during lunch or something you guys can eat together...and that will help make getting to know her alot easier. If you can't find anything to say try talking to your friend more and eventually the girl will step into the conversation too. If she doesn't that's ok too. Atleast she knows a little more about you now. But remember: you don't want to be in the friend zone. Ever. You want to make it clear that you don't want to be ';just friends';.
