Help friend help. how do i become friends with this girl?

i want to have my own clique soooo badly!!!!!!!!! i've tried to be in several cliques but it hasn't worked out. im in 8th grade and a girl btw.

there's this new Indian girl who seems pretty nice and i just want a clique. i want to be ';popular'; lol. but i've gone through a lot this year. believe me. anyway so this girl isn't in any of my classes and she's been hanging out with kinda weird people. not to be mean. but she seems like shes having a good time with them and i don't want to take that away from her, so what do i do???Help friend help. how do i become friends with this girl?
