How can i become friends with this girl?

ok so i work with this girl. Shes like a little more than a year older than me (im almost 17 and shes 18). She just moved here and she doesnt really know to many people. I myself was starting to get sick of all my friends and their drama, so i was actually looking for some new friends,and well here she is. However, i am so shy and quiet, i just dont know have to start a convo or what to talk about. Ive talked to her about all of the little stuff like where shes from, and stuff. We work at a restaurant so we do get the chance to talk but i just dont know what to talk about. Shes really outgoing and has a great personality, but i just am to freakin shy and quiet. What can i do to try and connect with her more. I did hang out with her a couple nights ago, but it was with a group so i still never really talked to her. Idk what the hell my problem is, when i was younger i was so popular and wasnt shy and i didnt care about what people thought of me, but now i cant even talk to someone.Help!How can i become friends with this girl?
Go in with confidence, even if it is not real. Your actions can change your mood. If you act confident it can create real confidence. Sounds corny, but it works. Go to a movie with her or something else that is friendly but can still be personal.
