How do I become friends with a girl or ask her out?

I'm an 18 year old boy in university who has been trying to meet a girl in university but so far had no luck. I talked to a lot of girls in my lectures early on in term and had lots of good conversations with them. I wasn't looking to date these girls but I would liked to have become friends with them. The problem is, I haven't had the chance to talk to them again.



Anyway, there is a girl in one of my lectures this semester who I quite like. I'm going to sit by her in the next lecture and talk to her. I'm good when I first meet a girl but I don't seem to get the chance to develop friendships with them. So after I talk to this girl, what do i do to ensure that I can talk to her again? Do I flirt with her from the start or take things more slowly?

Go and introduce yourself and talk to her see what you guys have in common or just have one of your friends ask her out for you but go talk to her.
