How do I become friends with this girl?

There's a new girl at my school, and today she asked if she could eat lunch with me and my friends. I said sure, because she seems really nice and I always love to make new friends.

The thing is, she's so shy! I tried to make conversation with her, but she would just answer my questions and it wouldn't really go further than that... how do I get her to open up and talk more, so we can eventually be really good friends?

Thanks! How do I become friends with this girl?
When she is new. give a time for hear. She is looking around and when she came to you then there is some reason. Do not ask all the time questions. Tell her interesting stories about what ever. Make hear laugh. most people asks questions like investigator. If you know somewhere is something cool stuff going around and she would be interested then you can say. Hey there is cool festival in here close, i am going there, come and join. It will be fun.

Best way is figure out your common interests, show her around, if she is new in town, go and show around. Go discover a world with her. If you know she is good at something ask questions about it or ask help to show or teach you same thing. like some subject.

If she is shy, if you are too aggressive or start play games you can scare her away. Don't over do, be relaxed and be yourself. Dont follow her, let her follow you at first.

If there is interesting and you want to show. Take her hand nicely and say come i want to show you. come. How do I become friends with this girl?
well you're already friends=) especially if she keeps eating with you guys. it takes time. when she gets more comfortable she'll open up just be nice (everyonce in a while) ahha
Invite her over to hang out. Go to the movies or do something fun. Doing something fun can usually let people loosen up. Maybe talk about something that she likes (such as a band, a book/series, etc.).
ask her how is life and what she likes to do on week days and you should hang out with her so she is not nervous with you and she will get use to you
What is her favorite thing to do? What is her idea of fun? Take her out and do something fun and the conversation will get much better.

ETA: My best friend and I were ';matched'; by our respective parents. We found out we both liked certain things--like creating mayhem, doing prank calls, putting things in mailboxes that didn't belong there, and setting plastic bottles around the corners of country highways just to hear the car wheels crunch over it. For the next ten years our parents were sorry they ever put us together *LOL*
