i think that u should try to tell her that u are saying rumors and if she still doesnt trust you then she isnt a good friend
I think the fact that she doesn't trust you simply by some loser making up a rumor should make you question whether she actually is your best friend. Teenage girls are insecure by nature - she's probably just going to beleive every bad thing said about her - whether it's from you or someone else. It all goes right into the self-esteem pot. Show her that you respect her, that you wouldn't do such a thing. If someone starts laughing or saying things in front of you two, stand up for her. But be honest with her, she'll will get over it. This loser may just want to steal her from you - did she think of that - that she's such a great girl someone would make you look like the evil one to get her...hint hint ;)
