How to become friends with a girl?

I am a very shy person with an anxiety disorder and OCD, I have a very limited amount of friends and I stay home a lot. Yet even though I am a huge homebody that has trouble making friends there is this girl I like. I don't know her that well but I meant her through the youth group at my parish and wanted to be friends with her. I don't want her to be my girlfriend, at least not yet, I want to get to know her. I barely do well around friends of the same gender how am I going to make good friends with someone of the opposite gender? How to become friends with a girl?
ummm. Begin with conversation about something the two of you have in common. If you know she likes the theater or dancing, begin a conversation about that. Show interest in the subject yourself, or ask her for her reasons for enjoying the hobby or passion. Ask questions. When a girl becomes friends with someone she thinks is a good listener, it is usually because they ask questions and allow her to talk about herself. Be supportive. Even if you don't agree with her opinions or what she is saying to you, simply support her views and help to validate her opinion's worth. Figure out her character. Try to understand that girls may share collective traits, but that each girl is different. Stereotyping a girl as having to be an emotional mess or a shopaholic will blind you to realizing her specific traits. Confide in her. To become friends with a girl means sharing emotions and secrets with her. You must be open and honest, and be receptive to her honesty, as well. Laugh with her, not at her. When you become friends with a girl, you must understand when it is OK to laugh at her mistakes. This is usually when she is able to laugh at them, herself.

idk talk about Jesus or God with her...tell her you need help praying or reading the bible and make your move
Smile, be friendly, natural. Don't annoy her either. Or cling to her.
